According to an article on the Organic Valley Coop website, “In 2006, the Center for Food Safety (CFS) sued the Department of Agriculture (USDA) for its illegal approval of Monsanto’s genetically engineered (GE) Roundup Ready alfalfa. USDA failed to conduct an environmental impact statement (EIS) before deregulating the crop. An EIS is a rigorous analysis of the potential significant impacts of a federal decision.”

The deadline to contact the USDA is March 3rd.

The impact of genetically engineered alfalfa is far-reaching. Please take a moment today to read the many articles regarding this topic. Read, make an informed decision and contact the USDA if you feel that it’s a good choice for the safety of your food.

    To whom it may concern:

Over the past couple of years I have converted my family over to a healthy, holistic way of living. Now I’m not going to lie and say that we never have an occasional slice of pizza, but GE alfalfa??? Really?? It saddens me to see what his country is coming to with food and the way that everthing is becoming so processed! We as consumers need to feel comfortable about the foods that we are purchasing. We need to stop this GE business and putting all these chemicals and additives in our foods. It’s killing our nation and it’s time that we get back to the basics with our food!

I work in a Vegetarian restaurant in Eugene, Oregon where I convinced the owner to stop using GMO-Soy Oil in all of his preparations so we are now using Organic Coconut Oil. I CARE about using NON-GMO products!!! I am one of MANY in my town who DO CARE what we put in our bodies and who we support financially. We support local, organic farming and Monsanto is an ever-looming threat to our health. Already a supporter of Organic foods, I now am an even larger proponent as I am pregnant with my first child. I will continue to buy local, fresh ORGANIC foods and I am a label reader and a conscious consumer. PLEASE hear our collective voices sing out that we are OPPOSED to ANYTHING GMO. PLEASE stop this corporate giant from continuing the hostile take-over of our health and well-being. Happy, healthy people live longer and contribute more to the world. I VOTE NO NO NO NO NO to GMO-Alfalfa and any other GMO products. Please stop now.
